MORNING WITH VENTCI

A Morning with Ventci is a photo series that captures organic interactions between me and my dear friend Ventcislava. The process did not entail pre-planned shots. The images are constructed, but they were born from an intuitive place. I directed by listening to my energy in the moment, and she responded to my quiet affliction while experiencing her own spirit in the moment as well. Perhaps an improvised performance between two people, guided by real emotions, is a way to describe it. The mood of the images is authentic, and the result was a documentation of the way we care for and listen to each other, adapting and leaning into one another’s being, which could have been different on any other day or moment in time - showing us the fluidity, malleability, and ever-changing nature of human interaction.
